is that you kade?
oh hey there kyle!
these two boys are such carbon copies of me when i was a kid. keon's no contest, came from the same mold as his dad's :)

separation anxiety all over again
kade has turned 9 months yesterday and he has discovered another milestone/feat. whenever i leave him in the crib to grab something quick, he would wail, and call out to me. or whenever i hand him over to his dad for some little daddy-son bonding, he protests, which, to hubby's dismay. i feel bad for hubby that sometimes he gets the impression that his bunso doesn't want him that much vs me. but of course he went through the same thing with our two boys before. it's just heartbreaking to see him that way.
he often jokes that our sons prefer me over him, but i've assured him a hundred times that by the time they reach grade school (which is not far by the looks of it since kyle's in kinder already) they'll be the best of friends and mommy will be the enemy.
but really, deep inside, i love the attention i get from my boys when they were this young. that i am their star, the only thing they need. well, now it's only kade who's doing it for me. kyle and keon have grown up to do things on their own and usually needs me when they want milk or go to the potty.
how time flies so fast that soon enough, these three boys would be so embarrassed to let me kiss them to death, smell their feet and armpits, cuddle and make funny noises before bedtime.
i think i'm the one having separation anxiety for the past 5 years now. hahaha

first day high
as a mom, it's quite exciting to send off your kids to school. most especially on their first day of school. but with the current health situation, it seems that keeping them at home is the next best option. not that i don't trust the school in making sure that the kids don't get sick. it's the other parents i'm worried about and how they value hygiene for their kids.
now i have to make sure that my kids have extra sets of alcohol and that they have an extra pair of handkechief in their pockets. and thank god at this early, they know how to cover their mouths when they cough or sneeze and stay away from kids that have cough. oc mom much, yes i am.
so much for the excitement in seeing them off tomorrow. now i'm all worried about them being in school for 2 whole hours starting tomorrow.
and yes, even keon will get to experience what school feels like tomorrow. wish me luck!

funny little keon

i was taking a bath and i heard keon calling out to me. he was awake quite early that morning. good thing we wasn't crying his eyes out and asking for me. he was casually calling for me. i guess he knew i was in the bathroom. he patiently waited for me to finish. and when i came out this is what he said:
keon: mommy, mommy
me: yes keon?
keon: wee wee (pointing to his jammies and pillow)
me: you want me to change you?
keon: yes, wet wet wee wee
me: come here and let's change you
keon was waiting for me ti finish to tell me his nappy is full and had leaked a few onto his jammies and he needed a change asap. he was also concerend about his pillow getting wet as well.
this little boy is quite the OC type that he hates getting wet with his own pee. and as mentioned in my previous post, he's potty trained. one last hurdle left. being nappy free at night.

project potty: the keon chronicles

as mentioned in the previous potty updates about keon's milestone in going potty we have reached another milestone. stage 2, poopoo.
it was such good news when my mom shared with me how keon finally gave in to going potty on his own. mama was with the kids in the living room when keon approached her, took her hand and led her to the bathroom. upon entering the door to the bathroom, he proudly announced/informed my mom that he has to go poopoo. and to my mom's surprise and amusement, she gladly obliged to assist him. (my mom has expressed that she will not assist at all when the kids go weewee and poopoo since she's done with the three of us) she sat keon down and the magic happened.
my little boy had pooped in the potty. on his own!
and he has been doing it eversince. he'll approach the nearest person and take their hand and lead them to the potty. such a smart kid.
even kyle was singing him praises for doing such a good job! i've got 2 boys potty trained and ready to face the world - during the daytime. nighttime is still a hurdle we have to face, but we'll get there soon. :)

Project Potty: Keon a Success!
for the past 2 months, we have been successful in training keon to use the potty for both weewee and poopoo. and so far he has been diaper-free in the mornings with a few accidents here and there. which, is ok with us since it's a bit early for him to even tell us he wants to go.
what i do is i watch his cues. if he keeps on touching his tutuy it means he wants to go weewee. and i would ask his dad to lead him to the potty and carry him. my kids have taken to use the potty for adults and hates those kiddie potty things. after the deed is done, he would then flush the toilet and wash his hands. how's that for a 2 year old?
as for the poopoo, we have to be really vigilant and keep a watchful eye on him. but thankfully, he goes poopoo on scheduled times during the day. save for the usual accidents again where he would be so engrossed in playing that by the time we go to the potty, we've left a trail of poopoo like breadcrumbs haha.
overall, i have been so proud of my kid's milestones and progress. i could not believe that at this early my boys have learned to go on their own.
before i know it, they're too grown up for me to even give them their baths. huhuhu...

the long weekend with the kids
thanks to the long weekend, hubby and i was able to spend the long weekend with the kids while they spend their summer vacation with my in laws.
how we spent it is better said in pictures:
while i spied Chuvaness and got all giddy and happy. sayang, she didn't stay long for me to have a photo op.
little boys playing house. obviously they're not yet sleepy.

upon reaching home, i just consoled myself with this:
but it just can't compare to how much i miss sleeping beside my boys at night.

my little boy turns 2
and it felt like t was yesterday when we were silently watching you take your first steps, your first smile, all your firsts. and now you're two. somewhat short of a little man that i'm seeing you become.
i now have two toddlers in my hands and seeing you grow up everyday right before my eyes, makes me beam and burst with all the pride i have inside.
but forever you will still be my little chuchibear. and you'll forever be your kuya's baby.
happy birthday keon! you still have a long way to go, and we're all here behind you.
mommy and daddy love you so much! same goes for your kuya kyle and (hopefully,) baby sister :)

last night's trip to the er
a few minutes after arriving home, one of the worst things i could have ever encountered as a mom happened. sure, there were accidents considering i am raising tow rowdy boys under the age of 4.
so anyway, while the nannies were clearing the dishes, kyle and keon running around the house. one thing led to another. kyle was running as usual, keon was standing still while eyeing a cartoon on the disney channel when suddely kyle collided with keon, and keon, well, bumped his head on the wall.
at first i thoughtit was just a bump, but hs cries told me otherwise. and then blood came gushing out. lots of them. i was panicking telling aishi that this is not the usual scrape on the head. it was literally a gaping hole on his forehead. my clothes were soaked with his blood. everybody was panicking, mom was trying to put betadine on his head, his nanny distracting him, while my little one was crying his eyes out. i told mom that this cannot be remedied anymore at home. so we had to take keon to the ER now.
kyle on the other hand, while everybody was preparing, sat quietly on the sofa. he kept on saying sorry keon, sorry keon. i guess, due to the panicking, aishi wasn't able to control himself and shouted at him causing fear and confusion with kyle. so i sat beside him, gave keon to his nanny for a bit. and told him that what he did was not his fault, he just has to make sure that next time it won't happen again.
so off we went to the ER. from the moment we entered the treatment area, to waiting for the bill, keon was crying his eyes out. can't blame him, his would was really big and thankfully, the ER doctors were patient and understanding.
as much as i would want to do a blow by blow account of everything, i can't. half of i was all a blur. and personally i hate going to emergency rooms.
by the time we got home, keon was calm, ok, back to his usual self dictating all the letters he sees. and was sleeping after 15 minutes.
i'm just happy that nothing bad happened to keon or kyle. the funny side to this though is that both brothers have been marked with scars from being too "malikot". but kyle still leads 2 to 1.
Here's keon this morning with the wound all covered up:

little harry potter in the making with that scar. hehe

2. i love the smell of cabinets under the sink and cement and old books.
3. i eat champorado with cheese.
4. when i eat anything fried, there should be mayonnaise. yum!
5. i still play with my kid's toys. hehehe
6. i can't sleep if kyle's leg is not on top of me. or just the feeling he's making siksik beside me.
